Jelly's Place

This year, for my birthday, I’m asking for your support for Jelly's Place, a wonderful organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for hurt, abandoned, neglected, and abused animals in a poor and underserved area of Contra Costa County. Jelly’s Place is being forced to move their bare bones, cobbled together ramshackle facilities on a strip of land on the side of a road in San Pablo, California and need funding to build their new location on land generously donated by Exxon in nearby Richmond. Your donations will help Jelly's Place continue their vital work in the community. Here are just a couple of ways your support can make a difference:

Hi, I'm Sue Lyttle, and I'm raising funds to support Jelly's Place.

My Artie was abandoned in Contra Costa County. He was a senior dog, chihuahua/poodle, his jaw riddled with abscesses. not able to fend for himself. Luckily the police picked him up and brought him to Jelly's place where I found him. They were clear to me about his condition. I was able to provide the health treatments that brought him around to the lively, happy dog he is today.

I love animals and I have chosen to support Jelly's Place as part of my Mitzvah project. I love volunteering and my favorite part is playing with puppies and training them. Here are ways that your donation can help.

$25 will provide care for a small dog or cat by keeping them vaccinated

$50 - will provide nutritional food

$100 - will provide routine care and meals for dogs & cats

$250 - will help rescue animals from abuse and neglect and provide urgent medical care to sick or injured animals.

More information about Jelly's Place: Jelly's Place is a community nonprofit organization providing rescue, veterinary care, and placement for dogs and cats who are homeless, abandoned, impounded, sick, or injured. Jelly's Place opened a no-kill shelter located in San Pablo, and some animals are cared for by volunteers in their homes. Jelly's Place provides community education and assistance to low-income pet owners as funds allow, and we also help rescue dogs and cats from the meat trade in China. All donations are tax-deductible.

We are Julie and Cris, co-founders of Jelly's Place. Jelly's Place was founded to help animals and pet guardians in our community. It's been 8 years, and Jelly's Place has expanded its programs and reach, helping dogs and cats in Central and Southern California, and in the past, as far away as China.

Jelly's Place has to move from its current location, and a local company has offered to donate a property to us! This is an amazing opportunity for Jelly's Place. We will be moving to Richmond, CA, just a few minutes from our current location in San Pablo.

Now we desperately need your help; we need to raise money to move, pave the property, and install sewage. We hope to install new kennels and rebuild our catio. We can't do this without your help.

Our Impact: Jelly's Place has rescued and found homes for thousands of dogs and cats, and an occasional guinea pig, rabbit, or turtle. Community members who struggle to provide care for their pets have been helped through our free vaccine clinics, and given education, pet supplies, and vet care as funds allow. We have provided free grooming and boarding for pets of our senior community.

Jelly's Place also offers volunteer opportunities where youth and families can learn about caring for animals, job-readiness skills to youth, and return-to-work opportunities for people returning to the workforce after an injury.

We do this because of amazing supporters like you, and grants from PetCo Love, PetFoodExpress, Soroptimist International, UC Davis, and Contra Costa Animal Services.

If we can't move, Jelly's Place will have to close. Please help keep our dream alive.
