Barb's magical memory trip, I am launching this GoFundMe campaign to support Inheritance of Hope, an organization dedicated to inspiring hope in young families facing the loss of a parent.

If you knew Barb you knew this, She believed in joy. She believed in family. and she believed in that Disney magic could heal the heart. Disney was her happy place - a place where laughter was louder, worries were smaller, and every moment felt like pure magic. In her honor, our family is launching something incredibly special: Barb's Magical Memory Trip Fund. This will sponsor Disney trips for families where a parent is facing terminal illness - giving them time to laugh make memories, and feel magic together while they still can. Because memories matter. And Barb's hear was full of them. We'll be partnering with Inheritance of Hope, an amazing organization that already helps families create unforgettable memory trips to Disney. Every day 562 children (just in the US) lose a parent to terminal illness, and too many people who want to help feel helpless. You aren’t sure what to do or say, don’t know how to actually help in the midst of terminal illness. So you pull back, shy away from the

situation.

Therefore too many people in young families facing the loss of a parent feel abandoned and hopeless. You feel like no one cares.

Too often the reality of terminal illness is avoided, which only makes a terrible situation even harder. We tend to want to avoid the shadow of death, but that is a false “hope,” a denial of reality

You can face reality, even the hardest reality, with hope when you are not abandoned but adored. In the midst of trials, you don’t have to feel helpless but can discover maturing purpose.
