For My Birthday – Help Me Change a Life
Every year, my birthday comes with a wish. Not for gifts, but for something far better: the chance for a young person in Haiti to stay in school.
This tradition is deeply personal to me. I know what it means to fight for an education and a better life in Haiti. I remember the sleepless nights wondering how tuition would be paid, the fear of being sent home and missing exams, the quiet weight of a dream that felt just out of reach. I made it through. That is exactly why I can't look away when a bright, determined student in Haiti faces that same uphill battle today.
On October 22, I'll celebrate another year of life. And the best gift you could give me is to help me give the gift of education to a student in Haiti.
Together, we've already done beautiful things. Two years ago, your generosity helped 3 rural students in Haiti return to school. Last year, we set out to raise $1,000 for a young student's university tuition – and you went above and beyond, raising $1,166. That's not just a wonderful act of generosity. That's a future rewritten.
This year, I'm asking for your heart once more: I'm raising $1,000 to help another young Haitian student take the biggest step of their life – going to university.
For so many families in Haiti, the back-to-school season is a time of impossible choices. Talent is never the problem: opportunity is. A gift of any size brings a student closer to the classroom, closer to a degree, and closer to a life they are working so hard to reach.
Where your money goes: 100% of every dollar raised goes to Hope for Haiti's Scholarship Program, which will select a talented student in great financial need and put your gift directly toward their tuition. Hope for Haiti is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and if we're lucky enough to exceed our goal, every extra dollar will stay in the scholarship program to lift even more students towards a brighter future.
