We are raising funds for our 10th Himalayan Elders Project picnic. The picnic directly supports our seniors' physical and mental well-being and is the core of our program. The program provides socialization in a cohesive environment, preventing isolation and many associated risks for aging adults. This GofundMe page is our only source of funding for the project, and your contribution today will help us make it happen.
What happens at the picnic?
About 60-70 Seniors are bussed to the gorgeous Palyul Retreat Center (5 hours from the city) and spend four days in the mountains amid nature. Seniors are supported 24/7 by 20 volunteers, including Registered Nurses, professional cooks, entertainers, care providers, drivers, etc. Seniors engage in various pre-programmed activities that support socialization and curated physical movement.
When is it?
The picnic is from 16th June to 19th June 2023.
How will the funds be used?
$6000 will be used for a 56-seater charter bus ($3000 one way to Palyul Retreat Center and another $3000 back to Queens, NY). The amount is fixed; the quote from the bus company is attached.
$4000 for Grocery expenses, payment to cook, passenger van rentals, gas, a donation to Palyul (for letting us use their facilities), and misc. Expenses. The amount is conservatively minimum and based on our earlier picnics.
Is my donation tax-exempt?
Himalayan Elders Project is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization; all donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
