Organized by Hills of Gold Equine Retirement Sanctuary

Diamond is a little rough, and needs our help!
Meet Diamond, a beautiful 25-year-old horse with a gentle spirit. Recently, her former owner reached out to Hills of Gold Equine Retirement Sanctuary with a heartbreaking request: to help put her down, because she has loved Diamond for 20 years and couldn't bring herself to do it.
At Hills of Gold ERS we are not ready to give up on Diamond just yet. With medication and a special diet her condition could be managed and her pain relieved. We believe she deserves a chance to recover, don't you?
Diamond’s Struggle
Diamond suffers from Cushing’s Disease, which has caused painful bouts of laminitis. This condition makes it hard for her to walk and move without discomfort. While some might see this as the end of the road, we see hope.
With proper medication for pain relief and treatment to help regulate her condition, Diamond can stabilize, heal, and return to a more normal and comfortable life. We’ve seen it happen before with Leo, and we believe Diamond deserves the same chance.
How You Can Help
Caring for a horse with special medical needs is costly. Your donations will go directly toward:
Pain medication to ease her suffering from laminitis
Cushing’s medication to regulate her condition and support her body
Daily care, feed, and farrier support to keep her comfortable as she recovers
Ongoing veterinary oversight to monitor her progress
Every dollar helps us fight for Diamond’s life and give her the golden years she so deserves.
Why It Matters
Diamond’s story is not just about one horse—it’s about compassion, hope, and refusing to give up too soon. At Hills of Gold Equine Retirement Sanctuary, we are committed to standing up for horses like Diamond who just need a little extra help to keep going.
We believe Diamond’s best days are still ahead of her. With your support, we can make sure she doesn’t just survive—but thrives.
Please consider donating and sharing Diamond’s story. Together, we can give her the gift of time, love, and peace.
