In October, I have been invited to join HearAide on a mission trip to provide hearing care to children in four refugee camps throughout Jordan. HearAide is very special to me as my aunt, Dr. Randa Mansour-Shousher, helped to establish the non profit with a goal to restore hearing and provide opportunities to those less fortunate.

 

I am currently a senior at New Albany High School and chose to take this trip as part of my Senior Seminar project. For this project, I set a goal to raise $5,000 to help fund the care in the clinics. My dad, brother and sisters have made this journey and I am excited to continue the tradition of giving back. I would be grateful for any support as we help to give these children an opportunity to hear and continue this “circle of care!”

This fall, I have the incredible opportunity to join HearAide on a mission trip to the Middle East, where we’ll be providing hearing care and support refugees and other underserved communities. Our team will travel to hospitals and refugee camps—places where access to hearing healthcare is often nonexistent or extremely limited.

Hearing connects us to each other, to opportunity, and to the world around us. Imagine going through life unable to hear your child’s voice, a loved one’s laughter, or even the simple sounds of everyday life. For so many, this is a heartbreaking reality. But with your help, we can begin to change that.

I’m raising $2,500 to help fund hearing clinics, provide essential equipment, and support outreach efforts that will directly impact people who have gone far too long without hearing care. Every donation big or small helps restore connection, dignity, and hope.

Hear me out! I need your support. Behind my long blond hair are the two most essential needs of my daily living...my hearing aids. Without them, I would live in a silent world where music would not exist, interactions would become limited, and words would often be entirely lost. It's a hidden disability that I have grown up with, normalized, and would not wish on anyone else.

 

With your help, I have an opportunity to give others the gift that I receive daily...the ability to hear. In early 2022, I will be joining HearAide Toledo on a mission trip to provide hearing aids to refugees in the Middle East. As a junior board member and mission ambassador, I have committed to raising $5000 to fund clinics in four refugee camps and bring awareness to change someone's life forever.
