Help Colombia Now: Earthquake Emergency Relief
COLOMBIA NEEDS US NOW
On August 10, 2026, a powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia, causing widespread damage and leaving affected communities in urgent need of food, clean water, hygiene supplies, shelter, transportation, equipment and logistical support.
Colombia has resources. Colombia has machinery. Colombia has trained professionals and thousands of people willing to help.
The greatest challenge is getting those resources to the communities that need them most—and that requires immediate funding.
Heavy machinery may already exist within the country, but transporting it to disaster zones requires specialized vehicles, fuel, operators, maintenance and coordination. Volunteers generously donate their time, but safely deploying and supporting them requires transportation, meals, temporary lodging, communications, protective equipment and other essential resources.
Without this financial support, rescue and relief operations can slow down, while local workers and businesses are forced to suspend their normal activities. This could deepen the economic impact of an already devastating emergency.
WHY FINANCIAL DONATIONS ARE SO IMPORTANT
We are deeply grateful to everyone who wants to donate food, clothing and essential supplies from the United States and other countries. However, shipping these items to Colombia can be extremely expensive. Transportation, storage, customs clearance and final delivery can sometimes cost more than purchasing the same products locally.
Whenever possible, purchasing food and supplies directly in Colombia allows aid to move faster while also supporting Colombian farmers, stores, transportation companies, workers and local businesses.
This means your donation can provide immediate humanitarian assistance while helping the country’s economy continue moving during this crisis.
OUR 24-HOUR CHALLENGE
We are calling on 200,000 people to donate at least $5 within the next 24 hours.
200,000 people × $5 = $1 million in emergency support for Colombia.
A $5 donation may feel small, but when thousands of people act together, it becomes an extraordinary force.
If you can donate more, your impact will be even greater. If you are unable to donate today, please share this campaign with at least five people. Sharing can help us reach someone who is able to contribute.
HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE MANAGED
This charity fundraiser benefits Global Empowerment Mission, Inc. (GEM), a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN 45-3782061.
My name is Catalina Ferrer, and I am organizing and promoting this campaign from Florida to unite Colombians, Latinos, Americans and people around the world who want to help.
I will not personally receive, withdraw or manage the donations.
Funds raised through this certified charity fundraiser will be sent directly to Global Empowerment Mission through GoFundMe’s nonprofit payment system, after applicable processing fees.
GEM has already deployed emergency response teams in Colombia and is working with local partners to deliver food, water, hygiene supplies, tents, bedding and other life-sustaining assistance to affected families.
Funds will be administered by GEM according to the most urgent needs of its Colombia Earthquake response and its established humanitarian protocols.
We will publish official updates about the campaign’s progress and the response information provided by GEM.
