If you know me, you know how much Venezuela means to me. Although I have built my life in the United States, my heart has never left my home country. Watching the devastation from the back-to-back 7.1 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes near Caracas has been unbearable, and I kept asking myself, "What can I do?" The answer was to bring together the amazing community of people I am fortunate to know and take action together.

I am partnering with Global Empowerment Mission and their long-term ally I Love Venezuela as they deploy immediately to assess building collapses and urgent community needs. GEM has been a first responder in crises around the world and has deep experience supporting Venezuelan communities since 2019, so every dollar will help a team that moves quickly and works efficiently with trusted local partners.

I am fundraising for Global Empowerment Mission to support immediate relief and recovery after the devastating 7.1 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes near Caracas. The scale of destruction we are hearing about is heartbreaking: families trapped in collapsed buildings, communities cut off from basic supplies, and children and elders left without shelter. As someone working alongside GEM, I know firsthand how urgent and fragile these first hours and days are for survivors.

GEM is deploying now with our long-term partner I Love Venezuela. Our recon and emergency response teams will be on the ground this Friday to assess damage, rescue needs, and where help can reach the most vulnerable immediately. Because of partnerships and lessons learned from the 2019 Venezuelan refugee crisis, we can move faster and smarter to provide shelter, medical aid, search and rescue support, and life-saving supplies.
