At Northville FIMRC, we are committed to bridging the gap in healthcare access for underserved communities worldwide. As a student-led chapter of the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC), we work to support medical missions, provide essential healthcare resources, and advocate for sustainable health solutions in low-income regions.
The Global Healthcare Crisis
Millions of people around the world lack access to basic medical care, putting them at risk for preventable diseases, malnutrition, and life-threatening conditions.
Over 2 billion people worldwide do not have access to essential medicines.
Almost half the world’s population (3.5 billion people) lacks access to essential health services.
In sub-Saharan Africa, there is only 1 doctor per 5,000 people, compared to 1 per 300 in the U.S.
Preventable diseases like malaria, tuberculosis, and diarrhea kill over 5 million children under age 5 each year.
In rural areas of Peru and Uganda, where FIMRC operates, over 40% of the population lacks access to clean water and basic medical care.
