Feeding Westchester Inc

My dad and I are riding to fight hunger, one mile at a time! 

This Memorial Day weekend, we'll be biking 85 miles – from Norwalk, CT to Salisbury, CT – to raise money for Feeding Westchester.  

Any donation will make a difference – just $10 can help them provide 30 meals!

About Feeding Westchester: 

Feeding Westchester sources and distributes food and other resources to towns across Westchester, helping to ensure that none of our neighbors are hungry. Feeding Westchester is a member of Feeding America, the nationwide network of more than 200 food banks serving every state in the United States. 

8th Grade Parents,  In lieu of the student party and dinner that would typically follow the 8th grade moving up ceremony, all families are invited to contribute the price of their child's party ticket ($50) to a Bronxville 8th Grade Class Gift. The students have selected Feeding Westchester (The Food Bank for Westchester, Inc.) as the recipient of this special gift. In response to COVID 19, Feeding Westchester has distributed more than four million pounds of food in April and May to children, seniors and families struggling with hunger in our community. New York is deeply affected by the current pandemic. Many people are loosing their lives. Others are deeply effected by the economic impact as they loose jobs and homes.
A Jewish friend runs a lovely food pantry, which is supplied by Feeding Westchester (The Food Bank for Westchester, Inc.). My church fundraises regularly for this great organization.
I am helping there as a German Pastor. A humbling and deep experience as I am very well aware of the German past and work side by side with descendants of Holocaust survivors to still this unbelievable hunger in our society.
The goods go to those most affected by the pandemic as they are in immediate danger of starving due to its effects. Any donation will help make an impact.

Hello All,

Did you know that 1 in 5 Westchester residents are food insecure? The Westchester Food Bank is an organization that provides food directly to 200,000 hungry or food insecure county residents.  They delivered 7.4 million meals to people in need last year, through food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, daycare and residential programs.

 Over the holidays, I had the opportunity of working with the Food Bank of Westchester to help raise money for the Check Out Hunger Campaign. I was assigned to work with Balducci’s in Scarsdale, NY as a  COH Ambassador. As Ambassador, my duties and responsibilities were to set up the donation cards by the register, speak to the cashiers about encouraging customers to make donations, and checking in from time to time to replenish the donation cards by the registers and to see how things were going.  I also handed out flyers outside of the store with information about the organization and how important their donation is in providing a meal or meals to an individual or family in need.

As a result of this campaign, my store alone made $3,271.00.  We were among the top three earning stores.  As a whole, we were able to exceed our fundraising goal for 2017 by raising a total of $26,204.00! I was so proud to be a part of this accomplishment and I realized that I can do more.  I am grateful that I have never known the feeling of going to bed hungry, or going to school with an empty stomach, or thinking about when I will have my next meal. This is happening in our community every day.  Just because it doesn’t happen in our neighborhoods, doesn’t mean it’s not real.  It is very real and we have the power to make a difference in these lives.
