Support Harrys Fight Against Epilepsy

If you know Harry, you know how special he is.

He's our gorgeous 7-year-old boy who is completely obsessed with cars and trucks, loves a good swim, and would happily eat pizza every day if we let him!

He has the cheekiest smile and so much love to give.

But our reality is a little different from most families.

Harry lives with Dravet syndrome - a rare and severe form of epilepsy that brings daily, unpredictable seizures. It's something we can't control, no matter how hard we try.

We've spent more time in ICU than any family ever should, holding our breath and hoping for the seizures to stop.

Dravet affects so many parts of Harry's world - his speech, his sleep, his movement, even eating can be a challenge.

And yet, Harry keeps smiling and fighting. He keeps being the funny, determined, beautiful boy that we are so incredibly proud of.

That's why we're raising money again for Epilepsy WA - to support families like ours, to fund vital services and to help make life a little easier for those living with epilepsy.

This year we're hosting a 2000's Bingo night fundraiser on Saturday the 30th of May, and we would love your support. Whether you come along, donate, or simply share Harry's story, it truly means the world to our family and wider community

We would be so grateful if you could consider donating a product or service to help with our fundraising efforts.

Every contribution, big or small, will not only make our event more successful but will also bring hope and support to families living with epilepsy.

Beau & Phil’s ride and epilepsy wa quiz night
Last year we raised an amazing $11,945 for EpilepsyWA! As you all know, our boy Leighton was diagnosed 2 years ago with epilepsy. It has been an absolute rollercoaster for our family. Never ending hospital trips, neurologist appointments, blood tests, eeg scans, numerous trials of medication and he is only 4 years of age. Throughout it all, our Leighton is the happiest and most caring little boy, who has the biggest heart. Last year, Beau and Phil did the big ride from Busselton to Perth, it gave us something to look forward to., something we could give back to our EpilepsyWA family and something we could control. This year we are going bigger!

On October 7th this year Beau & Phil will be cycling form Margaret river to Perth. We want other families and anyone who is also living with epilepsy to know that they are not alone. We will also be hosting a quizz night on October the 14th with a auction of memorabilia to help boost funds.

Epilepsy WA is our local state organisation, run by volunteers. Unfortunately, Epilepsy WA does not receive any state government funding, instead solely relying upon public donations to provide essential epilepsy support services for the 1 in 25 who will be diagnosed with epilepsy and their loved ones. Please join us on our journey and let’s smash lasts years goal! Share and donate to such a special cause. No matter how big or small you can contribute, every dollar counts! Hi Everyone,

For my birthday this year, I am fundraising for Epilepsy WA. I was diagnosed at 17, a terrifying time for my family and me. It took me many years to understand what was happening and adjust to the medication, but most of all be brave and accept my diagnosis. Many years on, I am proud to say I live a beautiful seizure-free life, controlled on medication as I've learnt to manage the challenges of this disorder. I want to help raise awareness, reduce stigma and start more open conversations around something that is very much in the shadows.

It breaks my heart that Epilepsy WA does not receive any state government funding and relies heavily on public donations to provide essential epilepsy support services to the 27,000 West Australians currently living with epilepsy, their loved ones and the 1,500 new cases diagnosed each year.

I’ve discovered with my career and life experiences that Epilepsy is not talked about enough, and I want to help change that. Join me in making a difference! I'm raising money in aid of EPILEPSY ASSOCIATION OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA (INC) and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.

We are raising funds and awareness for Epilepsy WA. A cause that is very close to the Jackson family's heart.

Our son Leighton was diagnosed with epilepsy at 2 years of age. The news was a shock to us all. We had very little knowledge of the medical condition and felt scared and alone. It has been quite a tough time for our family but throughout it all, we have remained resilient and strong.

Our Leighton is such a loving, happy and carefree little guy. Everyone always comments on how happy he always is. He is cheeky, fun and a loving son and brother to our family. To us, he is the true definition of strength. He has had a rough journey thus far in life. At just 5 weeks old he was rushed to hospital with RSV ( a respiratory virus), which very nearly claimed his life. We even had a councillor speak to us about preparing to say goodbye. He spent 5 days in ICU at Perth Children's Hospital where he was fighting for his little life. We are so grateful to all the amazing doctors and nurses for bringing our little boy back to life. But in true Leighton form, he continues to live life to the fullest with no boundaries. He really is a true inspiration to our tight-knit family.

We want other families and anyone who is also living with epilepsy to know that they are not alone. Speaking out and making a noise to raise as much awareness as possible to help people understand epilepsey better.

Help Lorelie fundraise for Epilepsy WA

My name is Lorelie, I am 13 years old. I was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 10. I feel like epilepsy in children is not talked about enough. This is why I have decided to raise money for Epilepsy WA, in March as it is epilepsy month.

In Australia 1 in 200 children live with epilepsy.

I would like to help kids with epilepsy and show them that you can challenge yourself even if you have this condition. I have decided to ride my bike from North ampton to Geraldton, a total of 70kms. I feel confident I can ride 40kms but the additional 30kms is going to be a challenge for me.

I will be riding on Sunday 27th March 2022 and will finish my ride in town. You are welcome to ride part of it or all it with me. I would love some company especially towards the end, when I will need even more of your support and encouragement. I am aiming to finish on the foreshore around 1pm. We will have a stall there, to give information and raise awareness on epilepsy.

I would love if you could encourage me and cheer me on by donating to this great association who is providing support, information and training for people living with epilepsy and experiencing seizures. I am aiming to fundraise 100$/km, so a total of 7000$. Any donation is greatly appreciated, every dollar counts! Learning about epilepsy is also a great way to support my journey.

G'day everybody !

My name is Christopher John "CJ" Walker, a true blue West Aussie born and bred, & I suffer from a form of epilepsy called "focal epilepsy". I've been treating this condition since I was diagnosed at the very young age of 5 ‍↕️. It's been off & on for me throughout my lifespan, but I'm surviving well at the moment, whereas not many others have been able to, unfortunately . With all this that's happened, I've been unable to reach my full potential for work with being unable to get a drivers license, forklift or any sort of driving licence at all with no guarantee of managing my stress nerves at times which trigger fits sometimes.

I did the 2024 Purple Walk 4 Epilepsy WA event on my own with some supporters alongside me during my last lap & also did the 2024 HBF Run for a Reason 12km marathon for the first time with my mum, in support of Epilepsy WA, & it was amazing . I just did the 2025 Purple Walk 4 Epilepsy last month, but I teamed up with people very close & dear to me....MY DIRECT & EXTENDED FAMILY xxx, as we like to call ourselves, R.A.C: RENT-A-CROWD . They've supported me since day 1 & I love them with every beat of my heart & soul xxx. But, in order to make this happen, I'll be pledging every Containers for Change WA collection I collect into the R.A.C: RENT-A-CROWD donations page ✨️! Plus, if we make it to the $500 mark from every R.A.C donation link, I'll pledge $50 from my own pocket in support, too, as well as continuing my skullet shave being cut to a buzz as promised. However, if we reach the $1k target, I'LL PROMISE TO DO A FULL CLEAN SHAVE ALL OVER AGAIN ! I pledged to shave my hair into a skullet for the Mullets for Mental Health Awareness month of April, which I've done, but will go the next step if R.A.C reach $750 ?!???!?!

This truly is a close cause that means a lot, not just to myself and my dear family, but also means a lot to many others out there in the community, too!

For over 60 years, Epilepsy WA have been a vital support for our community, helping almost 30k West Aussies living with epilepsy, plus their families & carers, just like mine . They provide essential services & work tirelessly to raise awareness about epilepsy, a condition that affects 1 in 25 people in our state. Despite their incredible efforts, they receive no recurring government funding & rely heavily on community support to continue their important work .

I would greatly appreciate the support through a secure online donation in any amount possible . Every contribution helps Epilepsy WA & other neurologic researchers maintain their vital services while bringing awareness to this condition. You can share & leave a message of encouragement as every positive word means a lot !
