We at EWP are celebrating our second school year with the launch of our new Early Childhood Development Program!
Educate West Point is a 501c3 certified charity supporting vulnerable families' access to education in the slum of West Point, Liberia. With
22,000 children out of school, we have a lot of work to do!
Over the past 10 month, EWP has raised 10,000 USD to open the sister non-profits, the US registered 501(c)3 organization and Liberia based NGO.
We've sent our 24 children back to school with 5 years committed funding, including 2 meals a day, healthcare, and all school expenses covered.
Through our Afterschool Program,
we have 25 students developing core subject areas through individualized instruction and support while benefiting from
computer training.
Through our Summer Leadership Program, our children have participated in
8 weeks leadership training and are currently furthering their self confidence through
service project development and public speaking skills through peer education. And now, it's time for us to open West Point's first Early Childhood Development Center! We've acquired the building, now to renovate and staff it. With the opening of our ECD center, EWP will be able to ensure our families' children can learn and play in a safe environment. giving room for our parents to focus on their income generation development and business training.
Our ECD center will allow us to take 60 children, aged 3 to 5, off the streets and into a safe environment to grow and develop, preparing them for 1st grade.
We're almost halfway to our $5000 goal and a generous donor has hinted they will match this amount if we make it!
A little goes a long way in Liberia, please consider us as your charity of choice to make a huge impact on some of the most vulnerable families globally.
