Doodle's Ranch & Sanctuary, based in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, has suffered a tragic loss today due to over 4 feet of water entering their safe place that houses more than 30 special needs cats. The water rushed in with such force that it tossed appliances around like toy cars, forcing the cats to seek refuge on higher ground. Tragically two of these amazing cats have been confirmed to have lost their lives in this tragedy - Peter Pan (a charismatic and special boy with Cerebral Hypoplasia who had been with Doodle's since 2016) and Buddy (a new arrival who was still in his quarantine phase).

As the rescue's Founder tries to pick up the pieces from this tragedy, Doodle's is in dire need of funds. Funds to repair the devastating damage to the property and emergency medical funding for the cats who survived. We hope that the remaining cats are found safe, but we do not know what this rescue will find as they fully assess the damage. Doodle's Ranch needs your help now more than ever. They seldom say "no" to a cat in need and not only intake cats with a litany of special needs, but also help cat owners who need guidance and support with their own special needs cats.

My name is Veronica and I am a former Doodle's volunteer! I met Jenn some years ago after I pulled a diabetic cat in NYC and she helped me to navigate feline diabetes. After volunteering at Doodle's, I started my own rescue for super senior cats. But right now, Jenn and her cats need urgent help. Thank you!

Right now, almost 30 rescued cats at Doodle’s Ranch & Sanctuary are depending on us to keep their safe place intact after flooding has hit our rescue's location for the second time in less than a year.

These are mostly special needs cats (Cerebellar Hypoplasia, diabetes, incontinence, or other physical and behavioral issues), along with seniors who are especially fragile and medically at risk. They have already been through loss, illness, or abandonment, and this sanctuary is where they finally found stability, routine, and care. They are lives that would not have been without Doodle's.

The flooding isn't just about water. It has disrupted the only environment these cats know as home and safety. We need your support to continue to keep them safe and healthy as we repair and restore their space.

Last August, devastating flooding took the lives of two of our beloved cats. It took months of repairs, cleaning, and rebuilding to make the space safe again, all while carrying that deep loss.

Then just weeks after the cats were able to return to their area, the basement flooded again...this time with electrically charged water, complicating our rescue efforts.

Thankfully every cat is now safe and readjusting in a temporary space. But there is significant damage to address, and the risk is not over. The ground is already saturated, and with more rain expected in the coming days, the risk of additional flooding remains.

To complicate the situation, this flooding happened while Girlies (a CH cat that has been in our care since 2015) was in the ER battling congestive heart failure. As our rescue was flooding again, we couldn't get to the hospital to pick her up - leaving us trying to manage a life-threatening medical emergency while fighting to keep all the other cats safe.

We urgently need help to:

• Repair, sanitize, and restore the basement

• Cover flood mitigation and electrical safety services

• Continue critical veterinary care, including an $8,000 bill for Girlies

Our rescue has already endured so much, and we continue to fight for these cats who deserve safety, stability, and calm.
