Every year, the select band concert is a highlight for the students and teachers at South Orange Middle School. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been unable to have this performance, so I decided to make a video of my band members playing music together and have our own virtual concert. Please watch the SO Pops Video !

Hi I am Moksh Desai. I am a 13 year old 8th grader, at a Middle School in NJ.

NJ has the 2nd highest number of Corona Positive cases in the Nation.
The number of Lives affected and Lost due to Corona in our state is  higher than that of many countries.  Besides the loss of health and life,  many NJ families are in danger of unparalleled financial instability and food insecurity.  The end of this Pandemic is not in sight. But with your help, we may be able to bring some stability during this Pandemonium.

On Saturday, June 20, I'll be cycling the length of New Jersey to raise money for people across the state who are facing hunger and poverty in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The 209 mile solo ride will start in the Northwest corner near Port Jervis, NY and end at the southernmost point of the state, in Cape May.

2020—a year supposed to be filled with some of the most memorable moments of our lives. Senior spring, prom, graduation, beach week are some of the Newark Academy traditions that we were looking forward to. As members of the class of 2020, quarantine has been challenging. Now that our classes have officially ended and we are now in a period that our school calls “Senior Project” we have decided to make the most of the remaining aspects of our senior year with a project we call Minutemen Miles. 


Essentially, six of us will be biking about 15 miles per day (150 miles total).  In order to assist our community during these trying times, we combined our Senior Project with a fundraising initiative for the Community Food Bank of NJ. The Community Food Bank of New Jersey aims to fight hunger and poverty in New Jersey by assisting those in need and seeking long-term solutions. All proceeds for this project will go to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside. The Food Bank needs your help now more than ever. Just to provide a glimpse into the current situation, before the pandemic 40 million Americans struggled with hunger every day, now an estimated 17.1 million more people will experience food insecurity during this crisis. Due to the effect the coronavirus has, there is approximately a 14.3% increase in the number of Americans that struggle with hunger each day.


We truly appreciate any and all donations. If possible, please make an impact to help a cause that is so vital during these unprecedented times. We are looking to raise as much money as possible because we are trying to help as many lives as possible. In total, 900 miles will be biked between the 6 members joining in Minutemen Miles. Any donation could help us go a long way!

We are Priya Halani, Ria Trivedi, and Khusi Patel-- three highschool students from New Jersey. Unfortunately, New Jersey has one of the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the entire country. Some of us are fortunate enough to have food in our plates while others go through a daily struggle to provide food for their families. We hope to raise money for those who have been economically struggling to afford necessities during these difficult times such as food and water.
