I am preparing to spend two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer living in a sister city in Morocco, and I want to build a bridge between the community there and the kids and families I love here. Throughout my service I will share CoachArt’s mission of bringing joy and possibility to kids with serious illness by weaving my coach art activities into daily programs for youth and families in Morocco. Art and play have a way of opening hearts, building confidence, and creating moments of light even in difficult times.
My approach will focus on simple, joyful practices: collaborative art projects, storytelling through drawing, and small coaching activities that help children name strengths and imagine hopeful futures. I will adapt these activities so they work across cultures and languages, creating spaces where children in Morocco and children supported by CoachArt back home can feel connected, seen, and empowered. I believe creativity can be a quiet form of strength for kids facing illness and for the families who support them.
This work is about connection as much as creativity. By bringing these practices into classrooms, clinics, and community centers, I hope to nurture resilience, spark smiles, and create shared experiences that remind children they are not alone. Your support will help me provide materials, train local facilitators, and document culturally respectful activities so they can be used and shared long after my service ends.
Please join me in bringing joy and possibility across continents. Your donation to CoachArt will help make these artful moments possible for kids and families both in Morocco and at home.
