Hi, my name is Sally, and my colleagues and I at Xylem are taking part in a charity walk to raise funds for the people of Nepal.

Last month, severe flooding in Nepal caused widespread devastation, destroying homes, livelihoods, and essential infrastructure. Thousands of families were affected, with many left without shelter, clean water, food, and other basic necessities.

We are raising funds for The Red Cross so they can provide urgent humanitarian relief and aid to those impacted by this disaster. Donations will help deliver emergency supplies, including food, clean drinking water, clothing, hygiene products, and temporary shelter for families struggling to rebuild their lives. Your gift will also help them to offer psychological support and find lost loved ones.

Imagine being forced to leave your home with only the clothes on your back as floodwaters rise around you. This was the reality for many families across Nepal. Families watched helplessly as floodwaters swept through their villages, damaging homes and small businesses that provided their income. With limited access to clean water, food, and shelter, they faced an uncertain future.

This is why raising funds is so important to us. We may be thousands of miles away, but we believe that when people face disaster, communities around the world should come together to help. Every contribution will provide hope, relief, and practical support to families as they recover and rebuild their lives.

Hi my name is Suyesha.

I am Nepali, and Nepal is very close to my heart. Seeing the devastating floods affecting families and communities has been heartbreaking. I’m starting this fundraiser to help provide essential food, water, shelter and support to those who need it most. This is a non profit fundraiser created with full intention to support nepal in this time of crisis please even if you do not donate share this to those who can, help those suffering, help those who have lost everything.

Hello. This Summer we (Harry, Joe & Callum) are planning on completing the 24 hour Three Peaks challenge with the help of our driver (Alex). This is where in under 24 hours we trek the three highest peaks in each country of Britain. So we start with Ben Nevis in Scotland, then Scaffel Pike in England and ending on Snowden in Wales. We are funding the challenge ourselves but we would like to help a charity whilst we do it. So we have decided to raise funds for the British Red Cross. We plan to give updates as we do our training of doing the 12 hour three peaks challenges in Surrey and Yorkshire and when doing the main trek itself.

I thought for a long time which charity to pick this year.

Many came to mind but no one charity stood out. So I decided to pick a charity that has no specialty and would help anyone.

The British Red Cross has a fascinating history - you should look up how it came to be! His inspirational story started in 1859 and despite helping thousands (even millions) of others, he spent most of his life in poverty, until in 1901 his story was heard and he was award the first ever Nobel Peace Prize.

Today, the British Red Cross has 7 fundamental principles:

Impartiality

Neutrality

Independence

Voluntary Service

Unity

Universality

The British Red Cross provide support to people in the UK as well as internationally.

My run this year will be inspired by the hard working volunteers who really will change the life of a person - if I am feeling tired of running, it will be this thought that will keep me going.

We're asking please that, rather than flowers for Jill's funeral, that people kindly make a donation here to The Red Cross, who were amazingly supportive when mum first found herself in need of a wheelchair.

I’m Niharika Choudhary - just an ordinary person who believes that when something matters, we can all do our bit to help. I’m originally from India and currently living in the UK.

I have no personal or family connection to the people affected by the floods in Nepal. I’m raising funds because I believe this is a humanitarian and environmental crisis that deserves our attention.

Glaciers are disappearing, ecosystems are under increasing pressure, and communities living in vulnerable areas are facing the consequences. We need to act before it is too late - not only by helping people rebuild after disasters, but by supporting greater awareness of conservation, sustainability, and long-term resilience.

All funds raised will be transferred to a verified account of the Nepal High Commission for appropriate relief and recovery efforts.
