I thought for a long time which charity to pick this year.

Many came to mind but no one charity stood out. So I decided to pick a charity that has no specialty and would help anyone.

The British Red Cross has a fascinating history - you should look up how it came to be! His inspirational story started in 1859 and despite helping thousands (even millions) of others, he spent most of his life in poverty, until in 1901 his story was heard and he was award the first ever Nobel Peace Prize.

Today, the British Red Cross has 7 fundamental principles:

Impartiality

Neutrality

Independence

Voluntary Service

Unity

Universality

The British Red Cross provide support to people in the UK as well as internationally.

My run this year will be inspired by the hard working volunteers who really will change the life of a person - if I am feeling tired of running, it will be this thought that will keep me going.
