Penny has a huge love and passion for horses and has found a very special place in Blue Acre Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation in Old Windsor which brings her so much joy and happiness. She loves every second she spends there and especially enjoys time with a lovely rescue horse, also named Penny!
Penny (the human!) really wants to help fundraise for this amazing charity and alone came up with the idea of a sponsored scoot to raise money!
On Sunday 2nd August 2020, at 10.30am she will be scooting from the War Horse Memorial in Ascot to The Copper Horse statue in Windsor. She would be so grateful for your support either by cheering her on and/or a sponsorship donation if you are able.
Blue Acre Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre began in 2002 by Caron North and Bob Regan, with one horse (whom the centre is named after) with a lot of determination and passion. They now currently care for 47 horses, rescue dogs, countless chickens, turkeys ducks, pigs and goats. They take in almost any animal at a moments notice and do all they can to make them well again in the hope to rehome them. As you can imagine, this comes at great expense, what with vet bills, hay, rugs, straw etc. The centre relies purely on donations to help with this. Donations and fundraising events are imperative to maintain the health and wellbeing of all the lovely and animals they care for and that's why Penny is so excited for her challenge.
Penny, who is 6 years old, is in full training mode and has such strong determination and drive to not only complete this challenging sponsored event, but also to meet her fundraising target. All out of pure love for animals.
