Animal Safehouse of Brevard
Hello friends and family,

This summer, I am taking a class at UCF called "Women's and Gender Studies Program," and I have a service-learning assignment where I have to connect with the community and try to raise awareness. I chose the non-profit organization called "Animal Safehouse of Brevard," which helps foster and care for pets from domestic abuse survivors trying to get into a safer environment, so they don't have to leave their pets behind.

I chose to create a fundraiser with a small goal of $250. I know times are tough, but anything will help! I have to create a research paper as my final project in the class regarding this whole experience.

Help Balto, Rocky, Nala and Buddy Get to Their Foster Home!
Two incredibly sweet dogs – Balto and Rocky (see pictures below) – were facing euthanasia at a local county pound in California. When we heard their story, we decided to do whatever it takes to avoid them from such an ending. We have been working with the county pound, local volunteers and businesses in the area. In our efforts, we also found Buddy and Nala, who were also on the red list.

We are glad to report that these adorable dogs - Balto, Rocky, Nala and Buddy - have been rescued from euthanasia, but they need our help to get to their foster home in New York. They have been through so much already, and we can't bear the thought of them not having a happy ending.

These deserving pups are ready to start their new lives in a loving foster home in New York. The only thing standing in their way is logistics. The total cost of transportation is $4,250 (after a good-samaritan discount from Pet Travel transport), and we need to raise this amount Sep 30. Can you help us get Balto, Rocky, Buddy and Nala to safety? Every dollar brings them closer to a happy ending

About Animal Safehouse Program

To help pets and people escape domestic violence by providing temporary foster for pets while people are in domestic violence shelters or otherwise transitioning out of violence and into safe long-term housing. We provide foster care, pet deposits, spay/neuter/shots, and anything else survivors need to keep all members of their families free from domestic violence. Our goal is to reunite pets and families in safe and loving homes but we also provide rehoming services for pets as needed.
