An Ebola outbreak in a remote part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has claimed over one hundred lives and sparked a global health emergency.
Americares is working with local nonprofits in the DRC to help prevent the disease's spread through water and sanitation improvements, public health education, and training for health workers on infection prevention, case management, and risk communication.
We have a long history responding to Ebola outbreaks, including the 2014-2016 West Africa epidemic that killed over 11,000 people—the deadliest in history.
Americares already funds water, sanitation, and hygiene efforts in conflict-affected health centers in North Kivu's Mutwanga Health Zone. Learn more and support: https://www.americares.org/emergency-program/ebola-outbreak-democratic-republic-of-the-congo-2026/?utmsource=gofundme
