Americares

Hello friends and family. As I am sure you are aware, Puerto Rico was just devastated by the enormous Category 4 Hurricane Maria - the most powerful storm to hit the island in more than 80 years - creating a major humanitarian emergency. On the island of 3.4 million, most are now without electricity and 80 percent of its transmission lines were damaged. 90% of cellular phone service is also down and 42% of people are still without water. I was fortunate enough to be off the island when the storm hit. The same cannot be said for many friends, neighbors and virtually every one of its residents. Recently, I reached out to the local newspaper in my home town of Norwalk, Connecticut who was kind enough to help raise awareness for this campaign. 

In addition to the deployment of emergency response teams, Americares has also been working with the Puerto Rico Department of Health to stock emergency shelters in San Juan with necessary medical equipment and vital supplies. Since the storm, torrential rains have caused historic flooding, and mass evacuations may be necessary in the event of a possible dam failure. Americares, and likeminded organizations, are beginning the difficult task of assessing the many health system needs and planning for a lengthy recovery.

 The 3.5 million people who make up the population of Puerto Rico are fellow American citizens facing a legitimate Humanitarian Crisis. Please take a moment to read more about the situation and donate what you can towards your fellow Americans.

Since Ceros is a company comprised of people from all over the world, some of us may have friends, family, or acquaintances that were affected by the string of hurricanes that hit the Atlantic in the last month. Even if we don’t have a personal connection to the victims, we can understand the magnitude of destruction caused by these storms, and can sympathize with the millions of people who have lost their their families, their homes, their belongings, and so much more.

That’s why we want to do something about it.

So we’re asking you to help us raise money for Americares, a nonprofit disaster relief organization that has provided emergency response for areas in need since 1979. Americares has a sterling record in regards to the allocation of its donations, and for every $10 donated, Americares can provide $200 in aid. That means that Ceros can make a massive difference.

Your money will help fund urgent medical care in areas hit hardest by the hurricanes, many of which were low-income communities. Not only will every $10 donated by Cerosians translate to $200 in medical aid, but Ceros as a company will match each employee donation. Our goals is to raise $2500, so feel free to share this page with your friends and family, as well as on social media. Anything you can give will make a massive difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Our thoughts are with those who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey including our employees that are from the area.  Anaqua is pledging to donate to the Americares Foundation to help rebuild the communities that have been damaged or lost.  We are aiming for a goal of $40,000 which Anaqua will match, in addition to a $10,000 cash donation.   We will continute to accept donations through Tuesday, September 19th. 

We want to make sure the Houston area has the resources they need to recover from this devastating event.
