Pakistan is drowning. Since June 26, 2025, relentless monsoon rains, melting glaciers, and flash floods have unleashed the worst flooding in nearly 50 years. This climate-change-driven disaster has devastated families, farmland, homes, and entire cities.
The Human Toll
From June 26 to September 2, 2025, the numbers tell a heartbreaking story:
- 863 lives lost, including 232 children
- 1,147 injured, 306 of them children
- 5 million people severely affected
- 20 million more at risk as rains and flooding continue downstream
- 9,166 homes destroyed or damaged
- 415 miles of road and 239 bridges swept away
- 150 schools impaired
- 853,000 hectares of farmland underwater
- 6,180 livestock perished
Major cities like Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan are underwater. Other regions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Sindh, and Karachi have also been badly hit. This is not just a local disaster—it is a national emergency.
Who We Are
The Alliance for Disaster Relief (AFDR) is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that unites 25+ community organizations and media outlets under one guiding motto:
“Blessings in Unity.”
We have a proven track record:
In 2022, Pakistan faced similar catastrophic floods. AFDR raised $2 million (cash and in-kind support).
Through our implementing partner, Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD), we provided food, water, tents, hygiene kits, mosquito nets, and urgent medical care.
AFDR helped rebuild 150 new homes, restore clean water projects, and positively impacted the lives of over 250,000 survivors in 2022–2023.
This experience gives us the network, trust, and systems to respond quickly and effectively in 2025.
Why $100,000 Now
AFDR is launching a focused appeal of $100,000 to deliver immediate survival aid and long-term recovery support.

- Hygiene kits & mosquito nets to prevent deadly disease outbreaks
- Mobile medical clinics for urgent healthcare
- Emergency shelter & tents for those who lost their homes
- Smile Boxes with toys, chocolates, and biscuits to bring joy to children in despair
Why Your Gift Matters
Every donation counts:
