Build Washrooms for Ghana's Young Girls
Want to join me in making a difference? We are raising money to build washrooms for young girls in a community in Ghana, and any donation will help make an impact.
The issue:
In 2023, with your help we were able to travel to Ghana to build a rain-water collection system to provide students with a place they can wash their hands with clean water. Spending time with the community, and community leaders, it was brought to our attention that many of the girls in the community were missing a week of school each month they had their menstrual cycle. Missing a week of school greatly impacted their academic progress. When we asked why they had to miss an entire week, we were informed that many of the girls did not have enough money to purchase menstrual products, nor was there a bathroom or changing area for girls to have enough privacy while they were on their cycle. In Ghanaian culture, having a period is something that is extremely private, and handled in private. Therefore, we knew we had to help develop a solution once again!
So far we have raised a total of $4500 but we need an additional $1900 to fully fund this project. This year, we will be going back to help build brand-new bathrooms and changing rooms so the girls have a private area where they can go during school, so they don't have to go home and miss an entire week of class. With your help, we can make a huge difference in a community, and provide essential help to a community in need.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
