In memory of Celia
Celia Barquin Arozamena was an incredible athlete and an even more beautiful soul. She came to Iowa State University at the young age of 18, one month after classes had started and fresh off of a golf tournament in China. She did not know her way around campus and spoke little English. She persevered with the help of coach and teammates and learned her way around campus and learned to speak English in no time at all. She was a gifted golfer, a civil engineer major and more notably a joy to everyone who knew her and a ray of sunshine wherever she went. All those who knew her fell in love with her instantly. There are no words to describe this feeling of loss. Her family left her in our care and now we need to help them in this devastating time of grief. Please donate to help her family with funeral/memorial and travel expenses.+ Read More
Your donations have been transferred to the Remembering Celia Memorial Fund at First National Bank and the family is immensely grateful. Please continue to remember them in your prayers.
We are more than halfway to our goal and Go Fund Me will be making the first deposit into the checking account I have set up at First National Bank Ames. I will be responsible for making the first withdrawal with the assistance of Personal Banker Karen Johnson who will then transfer all present and future funds to the Remembering Celia Memorial Fund. Many thanks again and please keep sharing.
UPDATE - A huge thank you to all who have donated and please, continue to donate. An account has been set up at First National Bank Ames to receive all Go Fund Me donations to be deposited into the “Remembering Celia Memorial Fund” and a monthly bank statement will be sent to the Iowa State athletic department. Thanks again and God bless.
