As you might already know yesterday at around 7 pm a 7.8 Magnitude earthquake impacted the coast of Ecuador, my home country, more than 300 people and injuring 580 (updated 5.23 AM Ontario Time). The country is under emergency state and 6 Ecuadorian provinces are currently the most affected, especially a town called Pedernales with its mayor describing "80% of the town destroyed, with dozens of people still buried under derby and with no possibilities of help due to difficult access of machinery and resources from Ecuadorian authorities".  Unfortunately most of the cities affected are of very low resources and poor infrastructure. Currently there is no communication means and most of the provinces have no power or running water. This is why we calling for your prayers and thoughts as well as donations with all proceeds going towards food, shelter, and resources for the families that have lost everything in the earthquake. The majority of them have not only lost their houses and all material goods (not insured due to poverty in the regions) but have also lost their family members, friends, and neighbours.
