MISSION STATEMENT
The Board of Selectman in the Town of New Fairfield, Connecticut, are proposing to introduce chemicals into Candlewood Lake to control Eurasian milfoil instead of relying on an already established and approved program that utilizes Sterile Grass Carp as a natural, environmentally friendly and proven strategy. Chemicals have never been used in Candlewood Lake and this proposal is widely opposed by New Fairfield residents, residents from all five towns surrounding Candlewood Lake, The Candlewood Lake Authority, boaters, fishermen, and other lovers of Candlewood Lake throughout the region.
WHO WE ARE
Candlewood voices is is a Group dedicated to the stewardship of Candlewood Lake in Connecticut by all those who love this beautiful lake and the surrounding watershed.
We welcome Stakeholders (residents of Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, new Milford, and Sherman), those who live on or near the lake, those who love to fish and boat Candlewood, all those outside the five towns who love and use the lake, and anyone who is concerned about the lake and it's future.
The lake does not have a political party, and neither does Candlewood Voices. It was formed by concerned lake lovers from both sides of the isle.
HOW WILL YOUR DONATION BE SPENT?
We oppose the use of any chemicals in Candlewood lake, and therefore we oppose New Fairfield's plan to introduce chemicals into Candlewood Lake and are pursuing a number of legal strategies to stop this action.
Your donation will support these legal efforts.
Important Note: Any excess funds will be donated to the Candlewood Lake Authority. The organizers and volunteers in this effort will not profit or be reimbursed for their time in any way.
