My name is Ann Williams and I am an Advocate for the Homeless . As a private individual I have set up this gofundme account in support of Cairdeas Homeless Action Group Dublin, who do such amazing work day and night for our homeless and in particular our rough sleepers.
Because of a drastic shortage of beds particularly in our Capital City, those sleeping rough on the streets, in tents, cars, or in homeless hostels, (unfit for purpose) are facing yet again another Christmas sleeping in freezing temperatures. This is just NOT ACCEPTABLE. People are literally dying from the cold and it cannot continue. I know that so many of you want to help them, so please if you can afford to, here is a way. All contributions no matter how small will be most gratefully accepted. I am the treasurer of this account and am solely reponsible for all monies donated, which will be used entirely for the purpose of providing beds for the Rough Sleepers over The Christmas Period and hopefully beyond. Strictest records of all monies donated will be kept.
Here is how it works.
As the only person with access to the funds raised I will use it (on your behalf) to pay for as many beds as the fund can afford, in B&B's , hotels or public hostels starting with Christmas Eve and Christmas Night. I am hopeful that I can secure a beds in b&b's for one night for a reduced rate of somewhere in the region of €50 . The monies donated will be paid by me directly, to the owners of all the establishments we have sourced, The donating procedure could not be easier. When you press the donate button you will be guided step by step on what to do .
Let us give our forgotten citizens the precious gift of a bed, in a safe environment over the holidays and make the Christmas Season this year, one which at the very least, will be warm and bearable for them. It would mean more to them than you can possibly imagine. Let's show those in control of our country what the true spirit of Christmas is all about. My aim is to have not a single rough sleeper without a warm bed over the Holiday period.
Finally I want to assure you that this site is SAFE for your credit card details and is used all over the world . I will include some testimonials for myself below also, to allay any fears you may have of this strange woman begging for money. May God keep our homeless safe.

Ann Williams has been part of my life for 30 years. We worked together on a very worthwhile project years ago to raise funds for The Romanian Orphanage Appeal and succeeded in raising on the night 32,825 Euro. The woman's sincerity knows no bounds. An interesting characteristic she has nutured throughout, is a profund passion and tenacity for anything she embarks on in life, combined with a reliable and upright character

4..... I've known Ann Williams since 1985 when I first walked into The Olympia Theatre. She is a beautiful lady whom I would trust with my life and passionate about her care for the homeless. 5... You could walk the length and breath of the country and not find a more honest woman than Ann Williams. Have know her for donkey's years. I would trust her with my life (and often did as she was my Acting Agent until she retired.) She handled all my financial affairs with RTE and worked like a dog with a bone on my behalf. Cairdeas and the homeless are lucky to have her rooting for them. She's a gem....
