Dear Family and Friends,
As our big 40 approaches, we are left thinking about our life's purpose. Although our lives are not as we have imagined years ago, we still feel fortunate for the things we have and the friends and families who supports us.
However, there are others who are less fortunate. There are others who do not have families or friends, who can lend a helping hand. There are others who struggle every day to find food and shelter.
In honor of our 40th birthday, we have decided to launch a 30 day "Pay-It-Forty" fundraiser. Inspired by my amazing colleague and friend, Taryn Schuler's birthday contributions of 50 pizza to 3 San Francisco youth shelters, we are continuing her selfless act.
Along with our friends; Taryn Schuler, Vivian Brewer, Mamie Wong, Emmie Dixon and Sylvie Asselin, we have chosen Project Homeless Connect in San Francisco as our fundraiser recipient.
PHC provides a multitude of services to San Francisco's homeless and low-income families. Services such as medical, dental and eye exam access, HIV/ TB testing, food and hygiene kit distribution, hair-cuts and much more.
All of the funds we raise will go towards the purchase of hygiene products such as travel size toothbrush, toothpaste, deoderant, shampoo and conditioner. As well as snack items such as granola bars, protein bars and water. In addition, we will be distributing lunch to those in need of a meal. The date of the lunch distribution will be posted once finalized by PHC.
