Bringing Belle Home

We are adopting a little girl from China! She has a significant visual impairment and the sooner we can get her here for evaluation and treatment the more hope there is of her having some permanent vision. 

We have always hoped to adopt one day. Adoption is such a beautiful picture of what God has done for us through Jesus...making us a part of His forever family and giving us a new identity with the promise of unconditional love.

Earlier this year, through the adoption journey of a friend, we became aware of a little girl in a Chinese orphanage. Something struck us about her, and we continued to follow her story and pray for her. We inquired about her over the summer and we have sensed God's leading to move forward with her adoption. In November 2017 we were officially matched with our little girl, Belle, and now we do the (fundraising and paper) work of bringing her home!

International adoption is outrageously expensive. This is not something we can do alone, so we are asking for your help. Would you pray for God's provision and consider giving? There are many expenses that come with this process (home study fees, agency fees, education fees, government fees, lots and lots of postage, etc.). Our costs are estimated to be $37,000. As of July 2018, we have already raised or contributed over $25,000 dollars and been able to pay all of our fees that are due before we travel to China. We are now raising the remaining amount which will cover all of our travel, in country expenses and fees, and a sizable donation to the orphanage to help provide for the children still residing there. We are getting so close to being fully funded, and it's only thanks to your support and generous giving. THANK YOU!

We have created several avenues to give. If you give here at GoFundMe (formerly YouCaring), 97% of what you give goes directly to our adoption and we have immediate access to funds as expenses come up. However, these gifts are not tax deductible.

You can also give at https://purecharity.com/bringing-belle-home/. 95% of what you give there goes directly to our adoption. All gifts through this website are tax deductible, but it takes us about a month to gain access to funds when we need them.

The international adoption process generally takes about 12 months. We are hoping to complete this process in December 2018.
