Solar Panel Roads in Miami!
Donation protected
Brighter Days, an initiative for Miami, will implement the first solar energy bike lane in Florida with the purpose of benefitting a low-income community in Miami. This investment will generate low-cost, long-term sustainable solar power for private/public electricity needs in the OMNI Community Redevelopment Area, allowing resident savings through a utility discount or resilience rebate program. This program will be the initial test model to empower the community to expand and scale the use of private solar energy production through financing programs on a long-term basis.
Where is the money going?
Brighter Days investment will cover the solar energy technology, installation, production, manufacturing and other cost involved for 100 meters of bike lane. This solar bike lane will be implemented in the OMNI CRA, specifically on a road that is in front of affordable housing.
