Brian Yagoda Memorial Fund

$11,960 of $50,000 goal

Raised by 142 people in 4 months
This is a fundraiser to help pave the shoulders on Golf Road in Delafield, WI in honor of Dr. Brian Yagoda who passed away after being hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle on Golf Road (June 14, 2018).

Brian (57 years old) was a loving husband, dedicated father, and caring grandfather. His wife Shirley, oldest daughter Kylie, married to TJ, only son Jared, married to Aubrey, youngest daughter Allyse, and only granddaughter Skylar, will miss him forever. Shirley and Brian were married for 33 years, about to celebrate their 34th anniversary in August 2018.
He was a pediatrician at ProHealth in Muskego for over 20 years. He impacted many lives throughout his practice, going above and beyond by being a selfless support for every concern of his patients and their families. He helped people outside the office by being available: After hours, in emergencies, for his family, for non-patients, for anyone who asked, he was always there. He went to St. Anthony's Sister Perish in Peru on a mission trip to give medical assistance to the people in need, who don't have the opportunity available for them.
Brian loved biking: motorcycles and bicycles, participating in many charity rides (such as the MS Bike tour for the National MS Society)  as well as recreational events (such as the Hilly Hundred). He biked with his family and alone for his own relaxation. He was an avid gardener, indoors and out. He enjoyed photography, mostly of his family. He was very interested in music and movies, collecting and sharing his likes. He had hot sauce with almost every meal, with a beer in hand ready to share his tastes.
Brian was loved by all and will be missed by all. He touched more lives than we can count, the number grows each day. He will be remembered because of what he did in his life, and what he did for the community. He will be remembered in his passing by continuing to help the community by making the roads a safe place to ride bicycles.

Donation Priorities
- First priority of donations is to pave Golf Road shoulders from Maple Av. to the sidewalks at the shopping center.
- Extra donations will go towards more roads to help pave, such as Silvernail (other roads TBD).

If there are extra donations after these first priorities, the Yagoda family will consider these other charities as they were organizations Brian was either involved with, cared about, or supported:
- Santisimo Sacramento in Piura, Peru (St. Anthony's Sister Parish)  http://www.stanthony.cc/Sister-Parish-In-Peru
- Children's Hospital in Milwaukee (Brain worked here)
- Big Yellow House in Waukesha (Brian and Shirley volunteered and donated here)  https://www.fswaukesha.org/
- Flight for Life (Personally affected Yagoda family)

Current donations not received through gofundme:
(Updated 7/10/2018)
Total: $24,688
Grand Total (gofundme + other donations): $33,788

Update 6/22/2018: We spoke with the Waukesha County Engineer and they have given us some more information regarding the project of Golf Road:

- We will be increasing the goal to 50,000 (the rough estimate given to us is 50 to 80 thousand which is determinate of a few extra feet of paved shoulder to a full bike lane)
- There are many other details that need to be checked, but in short they told us that we can do 3ft of paved shoulder easily.
- Officially for a bike lane they need 5 ft, this still needs to be checked if it is an option or not.
- We will get a more accurate quote in the coming weeks.

Thank you all for the donations so far and comments, it is amazing to read everyone's story and how many lives Brian has touched!
