Brettles

G’Day. We’re here because a dear friend needs help. Brett (or “Brettles” to many of us) has played an important role as synth-repair-guy for so many happy customers in Melbourne and beyond. His work is characterised by his true generosity, his warm and friendly nature and an absolute passion for sound. Brett’s such a good bloke that for many clients he became a close friend, because he regularly went above and beyond the call of duty and generously donated his time to passion projects that would otherwise end up abandoned. Of course you’ve read these kind of comments before and it’s easy to write them off as cliché, but this guy is the real deal. 

It’s for this reason we’re getting behind him in a time of genuine need. There was a fire in Brett’s workshop that has left him personally and professionally devastated. Not only did he lose all of his tools, his custom built workspace and an enormous amount of his own gear and parts, he lost other people’s gear too. After battling the fire (where Brett’s partner Alex also suffered smoke inhalation and minor burns) Brett had to spend the subsequent days calling many clients to let them know their gear has turned to ash. This has obviously been distressing for both Brett and customers alike.

 As such, we started this campaign to hopefully alleviate some of the financial burden on Brett. As we know these things can take time to resolve from a financial point of view, but worse still is that he can’t even continue working to get back on track financially. He needs help to buy new tools, replenish his stock of parts, and to replace some important instruments that belong to others. 

 We know there are MANY happy customers to have walked away from Brett’s workshop with nothing but praise for the man and his work, so we are hopeful that we can all work together to help him get back on track.
