Help BOB HARRIMAN Fall Back on His Feet
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Theresa Gray. My long-time amazing friend, Bob Harriman, recently had a disastrous fall resulting in a ruptured Achilles tendon. Bob has been out of work and will be out for another three months or longer with no income and an additional six months or more of physical therapy with lost wages. The purpose of this GoFundMe campaign is an attempt to raise funds to help pay for Bob’s medical bills (which have already piled up to over $5,000.00 with more to come), along with his rent, heat, electricity, car payments, insurance, phone, toiletries, food, and other essentials. All contributions will go directly to Bob Harriman.
BOB HARRIMAN and I have been friends since the early 1980s. Yup, we’ve been friends for over 40 years.
Bob is the type of person who will give and give to so many people (including myself) and never, not once, ask for anything in return. He has a hard time asking others for help, even if he needs it. He’ll just get it done by himself. If you know him or even met him, you know this to be true. When Bob told me about his injury and that he would be out of work with no income, it was at that point I realized I needed to help him in any way possible. I thought creating a fundraiser would be a positive step in the right direction.
What Happened? Behind the Scenes
While at his new job, from standing and walking for hours on concrete flooring with Diabetic foot pain, Bob developed tendonitis in his heel and calf. Scar tissue formed and calcified causing the muscles and tendons around his heel and calf to weaken (per his Podiatrist). In December 2021, Bob took a spill and hit his head on the concrete floor at work. Stunned and not realizing what had just happened Bob sat for 15 minutes, refused medical treatment, and went back to work.
On January 6, 2022, while relaxing at home, Bob stood up and lost his balance causing severe pain in his left heel and calf. Being the type of person that he is never asking for help, Bob did not call for an ambulance. He pushed through the pain and drove himself to the hospital. Upon entering the emergency room Bob was escorted to radiology for an x-ray and ultrasound. The x-ray and ultrasound revealed a torn Achilles tendon. Bob was fitted in a walking boot and an MRI was scheduled for a later date. Two weeks later an MRI was performed and the findings were conclusive of a ruptured Achilles tendon.
Bob’s stressful and daunting healing journey is only just beginning. Bob will be out of work for three months wearing a stabilizing boot to immobilize the Achilles tendon followed by a six-month (or more) regimen of agonizing physical therapy to strengthen the muscles surrounding the tendon. During this process, a loss of income will transpire at an increasing rate. We will keep you up to date in future posts on his progression.
A Little Bit about Bob Harriman
Bob tirelessly worked for over 40 years as an experienced Sales and Purchasing Manager for an entertainment lighting company. He has a keen passion for his craft and is well versed and quite knowledgeable in the aspects of the lighting industry. Bob is very personable as well as professional. Throughout his travels to Las Vegas & Reno, Miami & Orlando, Dallas & Austin, Phoenix, Wisconsin, Canada, and all over New England, Bob made countless connections, as well as friends, in the entertainment and lighting industry that he still communicates with to this day. His dedication and respect for his friends and colleagues are unwavering and admirable.
Bob is currently employed at a newly acquired position as a Membership Sales Ambassador for a wholesale club. His accumulated sick time has been depleted. As a result, no revenue flows in to pay bills. Meanwhile, Bob’s employer denied short-term disability that would’ve provided Bob with some sort of income. Bob needs your help.
Why Should You Care?
• Bob is and has always been a hard worker;
• He has always paid his bills on time and for the first time is struggling to keep up;
• Bob has been there to help bands with moving and setting up equipment and lights whenever needed;
• He is the nicest person you would ever want to meet (if you’d ever met him you would agree);
• He will always remember your name even if he met you only once;
• He remembers stories of times you had together back in the day;
• He is intelligent as well as smart (there is a difference ya know);
• He makes friends easily and keeps them for a lifetime;
• He will give you the shirt off his back and will never ask for anything in return;
• Bob has a true heart and is tremendously kind and generous.
Why should you care? If this fundraiser was for you, and you were in need, Bob would care enough to donate for you. Right now, my friend Bob Harriman is in need. Please donate for him.
Concerned about Donating?
Understandably some people have reservations about making large donations. Money can be tight and some people may think that a donation of $10.00 is too small. Believe me…Even the smallest of donations make a difference. Food, gas, electricity, and other expenses can be paid with every contribution because they can really add up. A $10 or $20 donation can put food on Bob’s table. Any amount helps. Will you?
Please note that you can donate anonymously if you want to go that route. In any capacity, you are truly appreciated.
