Bob & William Walk to Westminster
Donation protected
Lourdes is a small town situated in the South of France in the Pyrénées near the Spanish border. It's been a place of pilgrimage since the Virgin Mary appeared to Bernadette Soubirous at the nearby Grotto of Massabielle in1858.
Yes, you may have heard that over the past 160 years a tiny number of sick people (70) have received miraculous cures at Lourdes and had them recognised but did you also know that many, many more sick pilgrims by going to Lourdes have received the strength and fortitude just to cope with their illness.
Each year the Diocese of Westminster organises a pilgrimage to Lourdes, taking the sick and disabled there for a week in July.
Some sick or disabled people cannot afford to go to Lourdes so through this page you are invited to make a contribution towards making their pilgrimage a reality!
My grandson William has been on Pilgrimage to Lourdes every year since he was born. Now at the grand old age of 15, he feels up to helping his decrepit Granddad try and raise enough money to send a sick person to Lourdes
So in return for a donation, on the 13th April he and I are going to walk around 25 miles.
Starting at his parish church of St John Fisher in Shepperton we will follow the River Thames downstream and finish at Westminster Cathedral
I assure you all that your generosity will be remembered and a prayer for your intentions offered to Our Lady of Lourdes at the Grotto this year.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
