This new $1850.00 goal are monies that are required by Thurston County to file a new appeal application. The monies some of you may have seen on this site was from last year's hearing. It was all spent and then much more on attorney's fees. This site now starts from scratch.
Here is the history on the proposed sheep farm cell tower:
As you probably already know the Sheep Farm Cell Tower Permit was halted in May 2016. The Hearings Examiner GRANTED our SEPA Appeal and REMANDED the environmental threshold determination to the SEPA Responsible Official for further study of impacts to priority species and habitats. Because the appeal was granted, the Hearings Examiner did not decide on the Special Use Permit which means Odelia-Pacific (Verizon) can still seek approval on the original permit for putting up a cell tower by doing additional environmental studies.
Therefore, the issue of building a cell tower on the Sheep Farm Property is NOT CLOSED......Verizon did perform a bird study and hired a professional to do an avian risk assessment. Subsequently on May 3, 2018 Thurston County issued a Mitigated Determination of Non Significance! If this is not appealed, more than likely they will approve the tower and it will be built immediately.
That being said, The Deschutes Neighborhood Group thanks you and appreciates all the caring folks that contribute their time and monies to help us move through this challenge. We are tasked to keep our wildlife and its inhabitants and environment cell tower free. We are filing another appeal.
We are raising funds because Verizon Still Hasn't Gotten the No Cell Tower Message yet.
We thank you for your support and we so appreciate our group efforts!
Please keep this in your FOCUS!!!
We, the people, choose to effectively participate in decisions that affect our lives and well being.
The Deschutes Neighborhood Group thanking you for your support and caring donations!
