Batwa Indigenous Orphan Children

This June of 2018 a Mutwa* woman was the victim of a horrific hate crime, she put on fire and suffered serious injuries. Us at the Batwa Indigenous Development Organisation (BIDO) have done our best to organize to help her, and with the help of our friends and donors abroad, we have paid for her hospital treatment for the past 5 months. She is finally recovering, but has nowhere to stay once she gets our of the hospital.
In addition to that, one of our organizers, Arinaitwe Gerald Brian, has faced difficulties for the past three months because his brother’s wife gave birth to a premature child. The child now seems healthy, but Gerald’s sister-in-law is still sick, and they still do not have adequate money to provide for her and her child’s health.
Even more recently, two weeks ago the parents of the Batwa children in the campaign photo passed away. Below is a picture of their mother's funeral. Gerald is providing for them and letting them stay in his home, but he needs help, because between them, him (who has had medical problems recently), and his pregnant wife and child, he does not have the money to provide for everyone adequately. The children need money to go to school, him and his wife need money for medical bills, and everyone needs money for food, as they are barely making ends meet with meals at the moment.
Gerald has requested I make this a separate campaign from the main campaign that I have put up for BIDO on GoFundMe, because this one will provide for more immediate and personal needs than the longterm funding goals the other campaign was intended to be for. Please continue to spread word about the struggles of the Batwa people in Uganda, and help support BIDO and the work they are doing, thank you.
*Mutwa is the singular form of Batwa, meaning a member of the Batwa indigenous people
(Just like I noted on the other fundraiser, GoFundMe does not allow people in Uganda to organize campaigns, because of this, members of BIDO, especially Arinaitwe Gerald Brian, Ahimbisibwe Alex, and Bwengye Denis, are coordinating with me (Chiara Jacobson) to fundraise through this platform.
