THE PITCH
Remember that time I donated to your Kickstarter for your webseries? Or the time I gave you a few bucks for that IndieGoGo film? And the CD I bought of you/your band/ multiple bands? What about that awesome Crate and Barrel towel set I bought off your registry?  Or the plane ticket I splurged on to fly to your wedding?  Or the marathon/5k/3k/March of Dimes I donated to so you would get the special donor level sweatshirt?  THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!

Here's the thing... there is something I need your help with, a dream you can help me attain by pitching in a few dollars.  I want to be a mom, and the window for me to become one is getting smaller, so I want to freeze my eggs while I still have a healthy supply.

I am nearly 37 years old and single.  I am optimistic that someday I'll find the right partner, but I know that may not be soon. Because here are the FACTS on fertility, according to my doctor.

*One in 10 healthy couples of reproductive age will experience fertility problems. The causes are variable and equally attributed one-third of the time to the female, one-third of the time to the male, and one-third to unidentifiable reasons or to both partners.

*For healthy women, fertility peaks in their mid 20s, begins declining at age 27, then nosedives around age 37. If you are in your mid 30s or older and trying to conceive, you need to be very pointed in your efforts.

*The American Society of Reproductive Medicine advises women age 35 or older to consult a fertility specialist if they fail to get pregnant after six months of unprotected intercourse. Women ages 37 to 40 should wait no longer than three months.

There is a common misconception (isn't that punny?) that women can have babies into their 40's.  Sure, they CAN, but its far more difficult.  I would rather have a backup plan in place then chance losing the opportunity to further my family tree.

Plan A is always to meet someone, fall in love, start a family and live happily ever after.  Clearly, its this first step that is hanging me up.

THE COST
Here are the nuts and bolts of what you are donating money for.  I have already invested $600 in the initial consultation and blood testing. GOOD NEWS!  I am an excellent candidate for egg freezing, because my follicles are follicating and hormones are on point.  In order to proceed, I will need to pay up front:
$ 1080/ cycle monitoring, including venipuncture
$750 Follicle aspiration
$400/hr anesthesia services
$1000 Embryology aspiration oocyte ID
$600 oocyte freezing and storage for one year
$3460 surgical facility fee for follicle aspiration
$2000-6000 follicle stimulation medications

THE CLOSE
Please think of this as a preemptive wedding gift, baby shower gift, house warming gift.  I honestly just want more time to find a partner.  Your donation will ensure that I don't start trolling for careless men, like the chick in that hideous Heart song "All I Wanna Do (Is Make Love to You)."  I have spent the past year nannying babies, and motherhood is truly my calling. xo
