Baby Clementine's Cleft Palate & Lip Operations

We want to help baby and parents get through these crucial next few months with their new baby girl! They need financial help immediately! Funds will be used to pay for hospital and doctor's bills. We as grandparents are doing everything we can to help too.

This sweet lil' doll Baby Clementine Belle ("Emmie") was born with a severe cleft palate and bilateral cleft lip (2 cleft lips). She has been in NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit) since she was born over 5 weeks ago. Her parents are some of the best people on the planet, and her brother  just turned 2. Brother was also in NICU because of a brain injury when he was in the womb from his mommy falling in icy snow. He has been in therapy these past 2 years. Mom and Dad have been working tirelessly to juggle their many challenges, and showing up like champs.

Baby Emmie was born early and had to stay under Light Therapy for jaundice, and couldn't eat much except through a tube. Because of all the extreme operations that will prevent her from nursing, on Feb. 22, she had an operationto put in a "G-tube" (Gastrointestinal tube) directly into her stomach. She had to have blood transfusions also, just to help her immune system before surgery.  It has been a very delicate situation.  Because Clementine was getting dehydrated so quickly, doctors learned that she also had diabetes insipidus which
requires 2 shots a day from the lack of the hormone vasopressin. It is a life-long condition she will need help with ongoing.

The blessing is that Baby Emmie has had just amazing nurses, hospital support, and dedicated parents and family that all love her. Still, it has been heart-breaking to see her struggles, along with her parents, who both have not been able to continue normally in their jobs. They have needed to be at the hospital every day feeding and learning how to care for Emmie's many needs.
