We’re adopting!
Hi! Our names are Dave and Laurel. We have been praying hard about God's direction for our family, and God has put the passion to adopt a baby in both our hearts. We love kids and are so excited to raise our future little one to know Jesus! We want to provide our future son or daughter with a loving and caring home and every opportunity possible. For us, there is no difference between a child that joins our family through birth or adoption. God’s hand is in both methods of building a family. And we already truly love our future son or daughter! We both are blessed with wonderful extended families who are just as eager and excited as we are to welcome a little one into our family.
ABOUT OUR FAMILY: God brought us together in a way we never expected! We met through a Christian online dating site and married about a year later in March of 2013. We are best friends and love hanging out together. We have two sweet little dogs, Molly and Bella, who both love people!
LAUREL serves as a writer for a Christian nonprofit ministry. Laurel loves to sing, and she is part of the choir at our church. Laurel also likes reading, making crafts, trying new recipes, and baking cookies. Adoption is a desire God placed on Laurel’s heart long ago, something she’s dreamed of doing for many years. She feels so blessed that God brought a wonderful, godly husband into her life who’s going to be an amazing dad!
DAVE enjoys working with his hands and is very skilled at his manufacturing job, where he’s worked for more than 8 years now. Dave also likes playing roller hockey on a team with his friends. Dave likes sports (especially hockey!), enjoys building things, and has a heart for serving others. He loves playing games and being outdoors. He enjoys taking trips to the lake, which is just a short drive from our home. Dave is very excited about being a father and seeing Laurel as a mom!
And here's the part where we invite you to be a part of our story! Adoption is expensive. For our adoption, we need a total of $21,000 (this includes application, assessment, and placement fees).
We are doing everything we can to meet the dollar needs for our adoption by setting aside money each month, applying for grants, doing fundraising, etc. Honestly, on our own, we know that coming up with all the money needed is impossible. But we serve the God who makes the impossible ... possible. We have faith that the Lord, who has called us to this journey, will make a way.
