Hi everyone,
My name is Sarah Kristine Lynch. I was born on 04/20/1990 in Seongnam South Korea and adopted on October 16th, 1990 to a fantastic family in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
I am currently a teacher in the infant department of the Bright Horizons Westinghouse Branch. My volunteering opportunity in South Korea during my last trip "home" lead me to desire a career as a full time caretaker.
In August 2012, during my first trip to Korea, my adoption agency worked really hard to find my birth mother and successfully reunited us. Their effort towards my personal birth search made a genuine impression my heart.
During the planning for my second trip, I decided that giving back was the best way to make my trip worthwhile. I set up the GoFundMe with absolutely no expectations, but simply an eagerness to say "thank you," to my social worker and my adoption agency for all they've done for me.
The donations provided via fellow adoptees, supporters and those who simply wanted to help raised $5,710 in approximately 4.5 months. Every single penny went towards diapers for infants in their care, unwed mothers in need of supplies and foster mothers who also could benefit from a vast supply of diapers.
I try to make a trip "home" every two years to visit my birth mother and half brother as well as help out around the agency. I realized that my trip home can not all about me and what I want- it can be bigger than that and it can aid a lot of individuals.
This is why I wanted to try and create another GoFundMe and bring a gift of generosity to the babies at the ESWS headquarters. I think its important that those adoptees who have been helped by fellow adoptees whether emotionally, financially, and/or phyiscally remember that the children in orphanages and adoption agencies are our brothers and sisters too.
