"THE SILENT GOOD"Synopsis

Every morning, Yendouboame (32) (with her baby on her back) and Dambé (16) take their drums, put them on their heads, leave their homes and head towards a forage that is many kilometers from their village. They bring the water to cover their basic needs. Sambieni (37), Dambé's father, tries to save the little harvest that he has left to sell in the market. It is therefore necessary to build a water well to supply the entire community of Cinkassé. Meanwhile in Madrid (Spain), our society doesn't value water as it should.

Location and Circumstances

Tabí (a small town) close to Cinkassé, a region north of Togo, bordering Burkina Faso and Ghana, needs a water well. The people of the village get up early to go in search of water to cook, bathe, wash clothes and other necessities. Life for them is not easy and children suffer the most, because they can not attend school. They are also the most defenseless and vulnerable to diseases.

Intent of the Director
Patricia González Osorio (Spain)

My objective with this documentary is to show the difficulties that the inhabitants of these towns (sections of all civilization) have to obtain drinking water.
The water well is approved by the community of Cinkassé and on the basis of donations, it has been possible to reach the amount they needed to be able to build it. The film documentary will be presented to participate in film festivals, but also, we want to project it in some halls, from different cities, not only in Spain but outside our borders so that people can witness the need that many remote towns in Africa have to construct water wells to be able to survive and have a decent life.

In addition, the money raised from the projection will be used for the following much-needed well-construction projects in Somalia, Sudan and Ethiopia.

Filming in Togolese lands will last 11 days in April 2018, plus five days in Madrid.

The camera operator(Manuel Rivero) and the director (Patricia González) will travel together. In total there will be these two people and one person in charge of the project, plus the staff that are waiting for us there. We will document lives before, during and after the construction of the well.

Another of the reasons that impel me to make this cinematographic documentary is to show that "evil always makes a lot of noise, while good is silent."

Why would you become our little colaborator?

If you are reading this is probably because you feel touched by this important (and usually forgotten) matter. Now more than ever, the people we attempt to film on this narrative documentary need our help, and just like us you could help the cause with a couple of simple clicks. You might think that 20, 10, 5 or even 1 euro is of little help, but the reality is that all of us united can make the difference. You can be the difference.
