Friends of Smithfield Explorers
Throughout the year, our Explorers volunteer their time to show their support for the Town of Smithfield. This often results in volunteerism on weekends, school vacations, and even when the weather is less than cooperative. It is not uncommon for Smithfield Police Department Explorers to record over 500 hours of community service during their high school careers. In fact, several of our senior Explorers have received an official citation from the Rhode Island House of Representatives in recognition of their “outstanding and dedicated service to the Town of Smithfield.” Public service is truly a calling for these young men and women.
It is our hope that this fundraiser will generate enough funds to: a) provide each and every Explorer, who has shown their dedication to the program and the Town of Smithfield, with a full uniform; b) cover the cost of training attire, equipment, Explorer Academy tuition, and other expenses directly associated with the program.
It is the vision statement of the Smithfield Police Department “to be recognized as the most professional, well respected, highly trained, proactive, community-oriented law enforcement agency in Rhode Island.” The Smithfield Police Explorer’s Post 17 mirrors this vision and is tirelessly striving to see it through. Our Explorers have shown their support of the Smithfield community and we thank you, in advance, for your support and donation to this fantastic program. Please feel free to contact Post Advisors Ptl. Paul Gorman or Ptl. Jon Ricciarelli at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions, comments, or concerns.
