Meet Marty
Martha Bollman, lovingly known in her mountain community of La Honda, CA as "Marty", is a strong, self-reliant woman living on fixed income. For 41 years Marty has actively resided in La Honda and contributed to her local neighborhood by organizing "MAC" (Mutual Assistance Community) a group for retirees who want to live independently in this remote community.
What Happened
A week of rain in the San Francisco Bay Area has resulted in a landslide destroying Marty's entire home. In a matter of 2 days, this natural disaster has forced Marty out of her home as she stands by helplessly watching it ripped apart and sliding down the hill.
Our Goal
- Cover immediate out-of-pocket expenses associated with pack-up and move of all her possessions
- Make Marty financially stable so that she can pick up the pieces

La Honda Community Members Show Up for Marty
Our La Honda community has banded together to support Marty. Some people were able to assist the first day of the slide helping to pack her belongings. Others came with their equipment and expertise to remove trees that might have further damaged the house.
