Sawyer Neale -- Bernie Delegate
Hello everyone!
I'm Sawyer Neale, a pledged Bernie Sanders Delegate to the Democratic National Convention for Pennsylvania's 15th Congressional District. I'm a rising junior at St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland and, at age 19, am one of the youngest members of the Pennsylvania delegation to the DNC. I've been involved with the Democratic Party since the 2012 election, and have been involved in campaigns ranging from city council to the governor's office to make sure our government is run by strong progressive Democrats and works for all of us, not just a handful of billionaires.
As a Bernie Delegate, I want to go to the DNC to fight to ensure that, regardless of who our nominee ends up being, our political revolution continues to have a substantive impact on our politics. To do this, we need to send as many Bernie delegates as possible to fight for a more open and accessible party that is a strong advocate for criminal justice reform, electoral reform, equality, fairness, and government that works for all of us. To beat Donald Trump, we need to work to make a party that allows everyone ---- young people, Berners, minorities, and others who aren't a part of the party establishment -- to help make our party the best it can be. I want to help make that happen.
Being a Delegate is one of the coolest opportunities ever, and attending this convention will, without a doubt, be one of the most memorable times of my life. On that, I need to thank the over 30,000 Pennsylvanians who cast their vote for me and my fellow PA-15 Delegates! Suprisingly, attending the DNC as a Delegate is an expensive proposition, with Delegates having to stay in hotel rooms booked by the DNC and it will likely cost each of us thousands of dollars to attend the convention.
