SAVE SANDY CREEK
Help to stop theft, vandalism & property destruction at the Sandy Creek Centre!
Help to secure future projects.
The Sandy Creek Centre is run by Ross Harrold the founder of Crosstrek -Valuing Communities & the Environment www.crosstrek.net .
Sandy Creek is a back to basics environmental education & outdoor recreation centre, the only one of it's kind in the Fraser Coast Region, located within the natural beauty of the St Mary's State Forest (Maryborough QLD).
The main purpose of the Centre is to be a natural bush retreat which allows space and time to be immersed in the experience of exploring the biodiversity of the natural world while discovering the connections we have with each other and our environment.
For 10 years the former outdoor learning centre had been neglected and left abandoned. CrossTrek has been working towards reopening the Centre but in the past six months the site has been damaged by fire, vandalism and theft.
Camp kitchen destroyed and all the iron wall panels were stolen.
Entry gates ripped off their hinges and fencing destroyed.
Wall sheeting removed from the toilet block.
Wall sheeting and timber flooring stolen from camp shelter.
Buildings that were over 90 years old destroyed and water tanks damaged, rendered useless.
We need to raise $50,000 to secure the site in order to stop the destruction.
Help us to replace the entry gates that were damaged, replace the damaged and inadequate perimeter fencing as well as setup a system of solar powered security cameras that record to a remote server.

CrossTrek holds a permit to occupy the site so all improvements made will become the property of the landowner which is Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service.
Every dollar makes a difference, if it's $5 or $5,000!
A huge "Thank you" to everyone who has expressed their support for the Sandy Creek Centre during this time. With your help we will rebuild and then be secure in begining some of our exciting future projects.
