Sabrina's Volunteer Trip to Ecuador

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by this page. Your support means the world to me!
I have been given a dream opportunity, and I need your help! I've been offered a spot with a team of artists and actors traveling to Ecuador this summer. We will be living there for 30 days, participating in a series of workshops, lectures, and incredible experiences.
The BEST part is that we get a chance to give back and make a real difference. Our group will work within disenfranchised communities and with indigenous people, empowering the local youth with theatrical education. We will help them find their voices through the magic of acting and playwriting, giving them the tools to tell their stories.
This will all culminate with the creation and performance of our own original pieces inspired by our experiences in Ecuador. Our casts will preview these works in Quito before performing them in a festival in NYC the following week.
Smack dab in the middle of this trip is my birthday, I'll be turning 32! This year, I don't want gifts, or a party, or a trip. If you know me, you know I celebrate birthday month, because I believe in celebrating! I want to spend this birthday month pushing way outside my comfort zone and giving to others in this amazing way. I'm totally terrified, but I know this will be a life-changing experience.
If you help me get to Ecuador, I promise to do my part, show up every day, and make a real difference to these kids! I grew up as a painfully shy kid in a small town, and theatre gave me a voice. It helped me stand up and be seen. I know firsthand the transformative power of a program like this, and now is my chance to pay it forward in a big way.
Please know that EVERY dollar helps and goes to this program! Here is a breakdown of what your donations go to (after Gofundme takes out their fees):
In Ecuador:
-International flights (from major hubs to Quito to NYC)
-Lodging for all 30 nights in Ecuador
-A month of traveler's insurance
-All ground transportation (including travel to the Amazon, the Coast, and the Galapagos)
-All scheduled activities, including workshops with master teachers (your days are full)
-A daily food per diem (to cover all meals)
For New York:
-Domestic flight home
-Lodging for a week in the city
-Food, ground transportation, and all other travel expenses
I need to pay for the Ecuador portion of this program in the month of April, but every dollar I collect until June will help pay for the rest of the trip.
You can't imagine how much this opportunity means to me! If you care to add your address to your donation, I am a big believer in the power of a handwritten thank you note, and you can also expect a real life photo after the trip of someone's life you helped me touch, as well as a letter about my experiences. I will also post photos along the way, and cover the whole thing in my blog, so you can all be there with me! (You know I'll be homesick, I have to pack you somehow!)
