Save The Friday’s Cross Clock
History of 2 High Street

2 High Street was built around 1730 and the clock was fitted around 1800. The shop was originally …a Clockmakers and has spent most of its days as a clock/ watch makers or Jewelers.

Renovators visited the site, and we discovered the clock face is not the original, which may be behind the current face, and looking at the old photos of the site it is clearly a black face with raised gold leaf numbers.

Our aim is to raise enough funds to renovate the clock to be as original as possible. The restoration will be completed by approved repairs and restorers Bournemouth Clocks www.bournemouthclocks.co.uk whom are recommended by the clerk to the worshipful company of Clockmakers.

We will need to raise £5 – £10k to restore the clock back to working order.

The Population of Ringwood is 13,943 if everyone donated just .50p then we would raise just under £7k for the fund.

Any monies left over will be donated to a Ringwood Charity or several Ringwood Charities.
