Help RumorZ Get Back to Oregon
RumorZ and Ms. Information, also know as RumorZ Cafe, has been a Rainbow kitchen since 2004. We travel around the country, feeding thousands of free meals and hot beverages at gatherings and activism events. We've gotten bigger every year and we've always been supported out-of-pocket by the core crew and through the small donations we get while serving.
This year's annual gathering, in Oregon, is very important to our kitchen, because many of our central volunteers are from the state, or from somewhere else in the Cascadian bioregion. It is the first "home-court" gathering since 2011 and we are hoping to make it the biggest and best that the family has seen in years. The RumorZ core wants to help focalize scouting, attend spring council, and be a key force in feeding main circle from the first days of seed camp until the last days of clean-up. We have the skills, experience, determination, and most of the equipment.
Here's where your help comes in. For over a year, the core crew has been parked in California, remodling our flagship bus and dealing with some personal business. Mama Sunshine won a bout with cancer, we replaced our scout vehicle, and spent some time helping the victims of the fires here. Now we need to finish this remodel, fix Rakasha's brakes, pick up some odds-and-ends to round out the gear, and fuel two vehicles for the trip back to Cascadia. That takes money and, with eveything that's been going on here, we don't have enough.
So this is a shout-out to family who knows us from the road, from gatherings, or from one of the many Occupy encampments we have served. If you've got a few bucks to throw into the hat, it could take a lot of pressure off of us to meet our mid-may deadline for rolling out of here. You'll be helping to support the gathering and helping to fund some irie family who always give 100% and rarely ask for anything in return.
Even if you can't donate, thanks for reading this and passing it along. Many blessings to you and yours. We hope to see you in Oregon and feed your faces there with some deliciousness.
