Hello, my name is Sophia. I'm dedicated to helping those affected by Hurricane Harvey reclaim their lives. Since August 30th I've been directly involved with helping over 116 people get rescued; touched over 800 lives, secured over $30,000 in supplies that have been delivered to several agencies helping evacuees and survivors (Counter Balance ATX, Guardians Gate, COGIC IDOE Rapid Response Ministry, New Heart COGIC, Greater Zion Temple, Ministry of HOPE, Smartie Pants Academy, Jericho City Church, Free Indeed International, Northshore Community Church and residents at apartment complex on Maxey flooded in); securing over 14 convoys to make trips to Port Arthur, Humble, Katy, Beaumont and Rockport delivering supplies to shelters and directly to families; establishing 11 new collaborations between service agencies and local ministries.
I've met some amazing people that are just willing to forfeit sleep, their own money, their vehicles and homes to help complete strangers....all because its the right thing to do AND it could've been them. Currently, I'm working alongside Crystal Copeland (from my hometown Springfield, MA), provide support through October for those most affected. We are trying to raise $1,000 to aid with food, utilities and basic supplies (toiletries, clothing and bedding). This will allow us help those affected by Harvey IMMEDIATELY in VARIOUS areas...Rockport, Houston, Beaumont, Port Arthur and areas they were evacuated to like Waco, Austin, Dallas and more.
Our goal is to provide an environment for families to be RESTORED and REBUILD their lives while healing from the relentless devastation of Hurricane Harvey.
