The Quail Valley Swim & Racquet Club in Columbia SC is!! That's right, our beautiful facility opened 40 years ago next April. The best way to celebrate and to honor that many years of childhood memories and family traditions is to help QV get through her "mid-life crisis". You know how it is at 40 years old - some of the sides sag, some of the surface chips, and some of the color fades. And that's what the QV pool is experiencing.
Truth is, our dear pool is in need of resurfacing and repair. Pools require capital funds for maintenance and we haven't had the luxury of extra funds for the last several years. To this point most repairs have been small and have been "around" the pool. But now, our repair is larger and includes resurfacing the bottom of the pool and some DHEC required repairs.
If we don't make these repairs, the future of the QV Pool is uncertain. The Quail Valley Swim & Racquet Club is a beacon of fitness and wholesome family fun. The successful longevity of the QVSRC is a testiment to the wonderful families who have raised their families here. QVSRC is a valuable community resource. We provide recreational activities for members, community groups, and Richland Lexington School District 5 programs. We are the training pool for the award winning Quail Valley Swim Team as well as the Dutch Fork High, Chapin High, and Ben Lippen Swim Teams as well as an outdoor training facility for USC Diving. QV has been a home for individuals, families, and teams for many years.
The Quail Valley neighborhood is the base for the QV Swim & Racquet Club. Though you do NOT have to be a resident of the neighborhood to be a member of the QVSRC, the Quail Valley neighborhood homeowners do benefit tremendously from the location of the iconic club. Property values in the area depend on the existence and success of the club. Quail Valley Swim & Racquet club is a 501(c)7 non-profit. We rely on our members and sponsors and, in turn, endeavor to give our members and sponsors a great value for their investment.
The QVSRC Board of Directors is working hard to make the future of the pool and tennis courts absolutely sustainable. But we need your help! If you value the value that QV brings to your life, or if you are an advocate of fitness and sportsmanship for Columbia's youth, please consider a donation.
We welcome donations of any amount! Consider a gift in honor of a former or long-time member. Make a gift in the name of your child or your swim team kiddo who has practiced, competed, and excelled in this pool.
