Keep Pet Stylista in Oak Park
The building we are located in is being sold and we are at risk of not only losing this space but having to leave OP all together as there is no other location appropriate for our use in this area. I would like to purchase the building and have been qualified for a SBA business loan but lack the liquidity for the down payment and required reserves. I would have done this through a professional venture capitalist service but time is urgent with the building listed for sale now.
It would mean so much to have our customers and the community show their support in keeping our pet grooming business here in Oak Park by donating.
Although it is not 100% it looks like the building will be purchased by a neighbor who will live upstairs and keep Pet Stylista downstairs.
Accounting: $500 was spent on the inspections which helped to put hard numbers to the repairs required. The remainder is in savings and will remain there as a beginning to my goal to put the business in a more secure position for future uncertainty.
I can't stress enough how much your support and encouragement has meant to me. When you start a business and set a mission one of the challenges is to communicate that philosophy to your customers and as I have grown, to my staff.
My upmost priority is to provide a grooming experience with loving, positive reinforce to your pets. The spa environment is second most important to me and has been harder to maintain with the rate we have grown. I believe our new landlord will help me make the physical changes required to bring back the quieter atmosphere we started with.

The appraisal is going to be $2,000 for a commercial building (residential are $500) and then an environmental study for $2-3,000 (yikes).
If the property appraised for the contract price, he should hold his price. It is a great property with lots of potential. If it didn't appraise for the contract price, and you cannot afford the additional down payment, it is probably best to move on. I seem to recall your financial partner was only on board for this property. That may make it tougher to find another property. Good luck.
Hang in there Peni. Stay strong and focused on your dreams. Sometimes our dreams take us in unexpected directions--we just never know the miracles that can happen when we keep the faith, take daily action, and remain strong. You can do it!
I'm assuming that there was an appraisal. Did it verify that the asking price is fair? Please don't lose ❤️ faith, Peni. It will happen; maybe not here, but it will happen.
